Design highlights

  • Identical mid/high module to Reference One, so timbre is shared across the range.
  • Dedicated bass unit with its own alignment, tuned for real rooms rather than anechoic show.
  • Floor-standing geometry kept narrow to preserve the controlled directivity of the upper drivers.
  • Single-amp friendly: no active electronics required, DSP presets available via Amp One later.

The idea

Some rooms — and some listeners — want the full octave range from a pair of speakers with no subwoofer in the chain. Extended One keeps the entire mid and high structure of Reference One untouched and adds a dedicated bass section below it, voiced to integrate in ordinary rooms.

Design notes

The bass unit runs its own alignment. It hands over to the Reference mid-bass driver low enough that directivity is already omni-directional on both sides of the crossover, so room interaction stays smooth. The enclosure is a floor-standing column whose baffle width is kept to the Reference module, so the controlled-directivity story of the upper octaves is not compromised by a wider cabinet.

Everything above 300 Hz is shared with Reference One. That means the two models can coexist in one system — centre channel, second room, surround — without a timbre discontinuity.

What we measured

Extended One is in early concept and simulation. No measurement archive exists yet; when it does, it will appear under Measurements with the same evidence labelling as every other record.
