About the Lab
Goal
The lab exists to make every product decision defendable. Speakers, amplifiers and sources get measured against their own targets, in public, before anyone is asked to pay for them. The archives, projects and journal on this site are that process made visible.
Principles
- Evidence over narrative. Claims ship with data, and data ships with labels.
- Sample data stays obvious. Synthetic datasets carry a banner, a watermark and a filename suffix — all three, always.
- Negative results count. What didn't work is published too; the limitations journal is part of the record.
- Method before numbers. The methodology page outranks any individual graph.
Collaboration & media
We welcome independent measurements of anything we ship or sample — and we'll link to serious third-party tests from the relevant archive. Reviewers and press get the same data everyone else does, at the same time, with the same labels. If you run a measurement lab, a room-acoustics practice or a relevant research group and want to trade methods, write to us.
Contact
The lab mailbox is [email protected]. We read everything; we answer what we can; and questions that become archives get credited.
Send us a measurement question
A graph you can't read, a claim you doubt, a method you'd challenge — the good questions end up as new archives.
